The range of RDS Drying Systems covers applications from a wide range of sectors: hardening of adhesives and coatings, applications in the semiconductor industry and drying of protective coatings for electronic assemblies. The systems are configured to individual customer requirements. The flexibility of the systems offers sufficient scope to cover applications from a wide range of different sectors.

Our RDS Drying Systems are used predominantly for drying and hardening coatings and adhesives. You can increase the reliability and service life of your products by using a protective coating. The protective coating increases the creep resistance of your assemblies and protects against corrosion (e-corrosion and migration). A protective coating provides chemical protection for your assemblies (e.g. against environmental influences). Sealants are also used to reduce mechanical stress e.g. vibrations on your assemblies.

All heating chambers of our RDS coating dryer are equipped with high-performance IR radiators. The heating base of all IR radiators can also be equipped with glass covers to protect against contamination and for easier cleaning. This reduces the maintenance required and considerably increases the service life of the radiators. The hardening process is also supported by central convection heating. The volume flow can be pre-set by zone here. The exceptional thermal insulation of heating zones and the individually adjustable temperatures allow the drying profile to be perfectly coordinated with the specified process parameters. UV radiation guarantees lower thermal stress on the assemblies.

The variety of tasks is reflected in the various transport systems. Thus the systems can be designed with pin chain conveyors with variable transport widths, or heavy goods transport for single or double-track goods carriers. A space-saving solution for printed circuit boards/goods carrier return offers the option of under-floor return transport, which can be integrated into the system.

Thermal oxidizer – the reliable separator system for drying systems
The process of drying coatings and adhesives releases vapours and exhaust gases from the processed materials. These vapours must be safely removed from the process chamber of the dryer to ensure high quality production. Due to the high temperatures in the unit, the thermal oxidizer destroys the liquid gas substances with an efficiency of 99.9%. The low concentration of pollution in the dryer exhaust air complies with legal standards (e.g. TA Luft, Germany). Fundamentally, the exhaust air of the thermal oxidiser only contains water and carbon dioxide. The thermal oxidizer is available as a stand-alone system and as an integrated model.

Efficient cooling zone

Efficient cooling at discharge temperatures below 60°CThe cooling zone consists of a nozzle field that streams an even flow of cold air onto the assembly. Using the efficient cooling system and the separate transport unit, a discharge temperature of < 60 °C is possible. This guarantees an optimal cooling gradient.

The cooling chamber is easy to open and guarantees excellent accessibility, as well as fast cleaning with minimal maintenance required.

The system is designed with air or water-cooled cooling zones or even without a cooling zone, depending on process requirements.

User-friendly software

User-friendly software enables a flexible drying process
The software of the RDS dryers has an intuitive user interface, which considerably reduces configuration and operator training costs. Using corresponding tools you can document the drying process by product and integrate this into your traceability programme. Extensive documentation can be retrieved in just a few clicks. It also offers password-protected administration with several levels, language selection, data display and maintenance logs.  Furthermore, a graphic log of the individual process parameters such as transport speed and temperatures is included.
